The Watermill Tearoom

The Tearoom at Little Salkeld Watermill has a growing reputation for delicious organic vegetarian food, refreshing drinks and reviving cups of tea and coffee. Everything is made fresh on the spot by our brilliant bakers and cooks who produce all kinds of mouth-watering cakes, scones, salads, soups, ploughmans lunches and the like. If you order soup or ploughmans you get a choice of four or five different kinds of bread, all baked from flour from the mill.

Here is a typical menu:

Morning Coffee

  • Cup of Cafe Organico Arabica Coffee with Flapjack, or Watermill Chocolate Brownie (irresistable!)
  • Montezumas qun omacatal Hot Chocolate

Lunch

  • Home-made vegetable soup with a plate of different breads
  • Drink of organic or biodynamic juice
  • Miller's lunch - Home made bread with Bio-Dynamic Cheese from Loch Arthur Dairy near Dumfries, homemade chutney and salad cream
  • Vegetable Quiche with a variety of slads and home made salad cream

Followed by

  • Fresh fruit tart with yogurt or cream
  • Gooseberry Fool with Crumble & Cream

Tea-time

  • Choose from Indian, Darjeeling or Earl Grey or a range of herb or fruit teas
  • Scone with butter, home-made jam, & cream
  • Sugarless Fruit Cake
  • Lemon & Caraway Sponge Cake
